[NEWS] Yoochun and Yoon Eunhye Will Not Be Appearing in Drama "Maid"
Recently, a rumor ran rampant among fans that Yoon Eunhye of "Coffee Prince" and Yoochun of JYJ would be casted as the lead couple in KBS 2TV's new drama "Maid." The rumor, however, has been squashed by an official from the drama team, who claims it to be groundless.According to the director of "Maid," "There’s no evidence about Yoon Eunhye and Park Yoochun as the potential cast members.”
But he then continued, “It’s true we have considered whether Yoon Eunhye and Park Yoochun could be coupled together for the drama, but in the end we believe that the couple is not possible.”
Both agencies of the actress and singer have also denied their involvement in the "Maid" drama. Eunhye's agency, The House Company, stated, “It’s just simply untrue.” Park Yoochun’s CJeS agency official has also dismissed the rumor, stating, “It’s a groundless issue.”
"Maid" is a drama about a romance that unfolds between a businessman employer and his live-in maid while they become embroiled in a battle over money.

Continuing their host of activities, JYJ will be taking on the role of actor/performers in 2011. A representative of JYJ’s management company met with OSEN, and said that Yoochun, Jaejoong and Junsu will be extending their activities to movies or dramas as well as musicals.
Firstly, Park Yoochun, who successfully took on an acting role in the KBS drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” is planning to take on another drama. The management said, “After Sungkyunkwan Scandal, there have been many projects making love calls,” and “since his first project was a period drama, we are looking forward to another project which can allow him to show a different kind of charm. At its latest, we will find another drama project by the later part of this year.”
Due to his role as Lee Seon Joon in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” Park Yoochun, as a rookie actor, has received much praise for his acting skills. Furthermore, he bagged the Best Newcomer Award, Netizen Award and Best Couple award, at the 2010 KBS Drama awards, showing his possibility and potential in becoming a star actor.
Also, performing on 1 February in the musical “Tears of Heaven,” Junsu has plans to be more active in the musical field. The management said, “Although he has been offered roles in dramas and movies, Junsu plans to continue steadily in the path of being a musical actor,” and “his abilities have been recognized via his projects, and also his affirmation by ticket power, but the task at hand is to complete “Tears of Heaven” successfully. It is possible that he will be greeting the audiences via other musicals for the later part of the year.”
Acting in the Japanese drama “Sunao Ni Narenakute” together with top actors and receiving a great response, Jaejoong may also be making his local (T/N: Korean) debut this year. Jaejoong, whose appearance in “Sunao Ni Narenakute,” equipped with the foundations of acting, is the envy of many local producers. The management said, “Jaejoong’s charm and his acting experience has gained him some attention from the producers, and he has been getting love calls,” and “Dramas are a given, but even for movies, all kinds of scripts have been sent. For dramas, the good suggestions are now being seriously considered. In the later half of 2011, the chances of him greeting the audiences via a drama is very high.”

[News] 101111 Drama “Poseidon” Real test begins

Gunsan marine police station has been the stage for hit dramas such as “Swallow the Sun”, “All In” and many others, under the direction of acclaimed director Yu Cheol Yong. On November 17th, drama “Poseidon” team along with Gunsan marine police staff is scheduled to film at the police station pier.
Although the broadcast date is unknown, the work involving the drama has made “Poseidon” the first marine police drama ever making it a high level drama. With the cast of Eric, Kim Kang Woo, Yunho, Kim Wook Bin, Choi Jae Hwan, Jeon Hye Bin, it is regarded as the most luxurious casting for the 2011 dramas.
The filming had to be schedule for those dates due to the G10 summit that would take place the dates of November 11-12, 2010. The Gunsan marine police will be supporting the event in case of an emergency.
The drama “Poseidon” is about smuggling, maritime smuggling and fighting crime where they have to risk their lives. In addition, you will witness the sorrows they have to go through as marine officers, the dedication and love they have for their work.
An official from the Gunsan coast guard stated, “The filming will not all take place in Gunsan”, “Thanks to the filming of this drama in Gunsan, it has helped promote the Gunsan coast guard, and also the tourism in Gunsan”.
Meanwhile, drama “Poseidon” will be filming in the coast guard station in Tong Yeong, and will continue to Busan marine police station on November 15. Actors have already received training at the Incheon coast guard station.
In addition, “Poseidon” is said to be the most anticipated drama of 2011.

Yunho will play the role of Yunjae, a diver who was in active service in Japan and who has now returned to Korea as a member of the special attack unit (t/n: this is the specific term used in the Japanese article). His character will be the younger brother of Oh Yun Chul, played by Kim Kang Woo, and the characters will portray deep brotherly love.

[NEWS] 101022 TVXQ’s Yunho confirmed to star in drama, ‘Poseidon’
On October 20th, the official Marine Police website uploaded new information and photos from the set. The website coordinator wrote, “These are pictures of the actors from ‘Poseidon’ in field training.” To elaborate, the production team disclosed: “The actors received field training from the Incheon squad, and we also ran test film shots in Silmi-do, Incheon.”
‘Poseidon’ will begin filming on November 3rd. The drama will be directed by PD Yoo Chul Yong (‘All In’), while Jo Kyu Won (‘IRIS‘) will be tackling the script.
A representative of the H2O Production team stated, “The drama will be produced with the full support of the Marine Police. After months of discussions with the writers, special teams from the marine police will be appointed to deal with rescue scenes. The drama will be based around humanity and self-sacrifice, and viewers will be moved by the drama’s storyline about the pains and importances in life.”

After one year and three months, SBS's 9pm slot for dramas on Monday and Tuesdays will be abolished.
SBS is currently airing "Dr. Champ" in the 9pm Monday-Tuesday slot, and following the steps of other broadcasting stations, it will abolish the slot next Spring.
A SBS personnel has revealed on the 18th that "'It's alright, Daddy's daughter' with Moon Chae Won, the follow up drama for 'Dr. Champ',and 'Paradise Meadow' with Choikang Changmin and Lee Yeon Hee are already scheduled to air. After the broadcast of 'Paradise Meadow', the 9pm Monday-Tuesday drama slot will be abolished."

[News] 101019 KBS 2TV Drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ Got Another Slight Rise in Rating
On the 19th, viewership rating agency AGB Nielsen Media Research reported rating result of ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ episode that was aired on the 18th evening, the drama recorded 13.1% on nationwide rating.
This record is a rise by 2.2 points from 10.9% rating that was gained by the previous episode on the 12th.
The reason of this rise on viewership is identified due to MBC popular drama ‘Dong Yi’ which had bid for goodbye thus increased more audiences interests on ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’. In this episode, Lee Seon Jun (Park Yoochun) confessed to Yeon Hee (Park Min Young), “As a man, you’re really good.”
At the drama bulletin, comments were left such as “Park Yoochun’s acting is beyond expectations”, “Altough the story is quite different than in the book, but both are still interesting.” “Frankly it’s a heavy burden, as this is a really good historical drama,” showing how attention of audiences rises.
Meanwhile, the concurrent time line broadcast dramas SBS ‘Giant’ recorded 28.9% and MBC ‘Queen of Reversals’ recorded 10.4%.

[News] 100921 KBS2 drama ‘Sungkyunkwan scandal Has Shown a Steady Increase Ratings
Based on rating agency AGB Nielsen Media Research, the aggregate result of the 20th evening aired episode of ‘SungkyunKwan Scandal’ hit 8.7% rating for national viewership.
This is an increase of 0.3% from last 14th broadcast time that was 8.4% and is so far the highest audience rating of the drama. Yet according to another viewer rating agency TNmS, ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ recorded 9.7%, a rise of 1.7% from the last 14th rating that was 8.0%.
Ever since the first broadcast of ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ on the 30th last month that recorded rating 6.3%, the drama keeps showing a steady increase in rating and now it seems the double-digit rating is already ahead them.
The most essential factor of the drama’s popularity is especially the great acting skills from its lead actors such as Park Yoochun and Park Min Young. Park Min Young successfully liven up her character perfectly as someone who disguise as a man even though she’s a woman, and silently carries hard troubles on her, also the skill to be able to show various charming expressions, her acting is successfully receiving love especially from male viewers. In addition, the great acting by other handsome 4 members gang Park Yoochun, Song Jong Gi, and Yoo Ah In brings viewers’ interests on them thus raised the love to the drama.

[Trans] 100831 ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ Changes Drama Title Logo To ‘SungKyunKwan And Scandal’
New KBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, which aired for the first time on the 30th, released their title logo with an ‘and’ between ‘SungKyunKwan’ and ‘Scandal’.
This is because the SungKyunKwan School has been requesting KBS and the production company to change the title of the drama as it may bring a negative image to the greatest educational body of the Joseon Dynasty.
The production company has been advertising the drama as ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ until the 26th, when they began adding an ‘and’ between the two words of the title logo in order to reach a compromise with the school.
Following this, ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ changed its name to ‘SungKyunKwan and Scandal’ for its first airing on the 30th, and the title logo and watermarks on the photos were fixed on the official website in KBS on the 27th.
However, KBS will continue to advertise the drama as ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’.
According to the production company, it would be a strain to change the title for advertisements as well as viewers have already familiarized themselves with the name ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ and the school agreed to this decision.

[News] 100830 Popular Dramas To Air In Latin America
A Peruvian television channel has recently acquired the rights to broadcast well-known Korean dramas and have been noted as taking yet another step forward for the Hallyu wave.
Kpop fans in Peru could not believe their eyes as a recent commercial aired throughout Panamericana Televisión. Announcing them as ‘coming soon’, a commercial showed various upcoming dramas to be aired throughout the fall and next year, “Coming soon are the some of the best Korean productions. Viewers will be captivated by some of the most intense story lines.”
The commercial included KBS‘s Boys Before Flowers (Las Flores Salvajes/Wild Flowers), MBC‘s Strike Love, KBS‘s Summer Scent (Esencia De Verano), MBC‘s Heading To The Ground starring DBSK‘s U-Know Yunho (Sin Limites/Without Limits), KBS‘s Full House starring Rain, and KBS‘s Spring Waltz (Ella Es Una Mujer/She’s A Super Woman). The channel will begin their Korean broadcasts with MBC‘s Queen Of Housewives on August 30th.
After the news slowly began to spread among Kdrama communities in Latin America, fans could only comment with excitement. A fan commented, “I’m really amazed that those dramas are coming all the way over here, I can’t believe this is real…I can’t wait to watch!”

The new KBS2 TV drama [SungKyunKwan Scandal] (Scriptwriter: Kim Tae Hee, Director: Kim Won Seok), which is in the middle of filming, will air its first episode on 30 August.
