[INFO] 101102 Petition for a Director's Cut DVD of "SungKyunKwan Scandal"

With "SungKyunKwan Scandal" coming to an end soon, the fans of the drama in Korea are now requesting for a director's cut DVD to be released. At present, there are plans to release the DVD as a normal version or a premium version where only the 20 episodes that have been aired will be included, plus some possible extras (probably no subtitles).

As it usually is in Korea, a Daum cafe has been set up for Korean fans to express their interest in buying the director's cut DVD if it was to become available. Fans leave their name and contact details - like a petition. At the moment, Korean fans have collected about 1,000 names or so already.

However, after a meeting between the Daum cafe administrators and the production company today, the latter has requested at least 3000 names for them to even consider making a director's cut DVD. If we don't gather enough people, there will be NO CHANCE for that DVD to be released. Therefore, we're trying to compile the names of people overseas who would be interested to buy.

There is only a week left until the last broadcast of [SungKyunKwan Scandal]. Could the audience be feeling regretful about that? Currently, there is a lot of heated discussion regarding the possibility of filming the sequel to [SungKyunKwan Scandal]. A staff in charge of promotions for the TV series revealed, "Although it has not been decided, but there are many ongoing discussion with regards to the filming of the sequel to [SungKyunKwan Scandal]." This is good news to all those who were disappointed when there were rumours that there will not be a sequel.

[SungKyunKwan Scandal] is adapted from the novel "The Lives of SungKyunKwan Confucian Scholars", which is followed up with the second book "The Lives of GyuJangGak Government Officials". As [SungKyunKwan Scandal] only shows the first half of the story, the views are also left with a lot of anticipation for a sequel.

Also, the two leads are extremely popular, which results in an increasing demand for there to be a sequel. In reality, it has not been decided if a sequel will be filmed, but the fans are already ecstatic at the words "many ongoing discussion with regards to the filming of the sequel".

Many netizens have also left many messages online to express their high hopes: "It's such a waste if there's neither an extended version nor a special version!" "You have to fine a sequel, you can't just end like that~" and "If there's a sequel, I want to Jalgeum Quartet to act in it!"

Park Yoochun and Park Min Young representatives immediately denied about the two actors’ dating rumors.

Representatives of Park Yoochun and Park Min Young had a phonecall with Newsen on the 21st and said, It’s completely unfounded rumor about both of them.”

Both said that the love nurtured during the shooting of their drama between Park Yoochun and Park Min Young is a false alarm. They do spend good time together as cheering and console each other publicly on the shooting set, yet to the rumor which takes this further saying the they’re dating, both side denied and emphasized that they’re just good friends.

The official said, “Since the beginning of the drama, they’re clicked thus they’ve been hanging around together, but not as in lover relationship, it’s just friends relationship. They’re too ‘good friends’ that it’s hard to see them as in the rumor says.”

The two actors’ drama official also commented, “It’s absolutely not true,” he said. “They have good relationship for filming work, but they’re awkward/shy to each other in real life.”

[Trans] 100831 ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ Changes Drama Title Logo To ‘SungKyunKwan And Scandal’

New KBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, which aired for the first time on the 30th, released their title logo with an ‘and’ between ‘SungKyunKwan’ and ‘Scandal’.

This is because the SungKyunKwan School has been requesting KBS and the production company to change the title of the drama as it may bring a negative image to the greatest educational body of the Joseon Dynasty.

The production company has been advertising the drama as ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ until the 26th, when they began adding an ‘and’ between the two words of the title logo in order to reach a compromise with the school.

Following this, ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ changed its name to ‘SungKyunKwan and Scandal’ for its first airing on the 30th, and the title logo and watermarks on the photos were fixed on the official website in KBS on the 27th.

However, KBS will continue to advertise the drama as ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’.

According to the production company, it would be a strain to change the title for advertisements as well as viewers have already familiarized themselves with the name ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ and the school agreed to this decision.
