[TRANS] Xiah Junsu’s contract for ‘Tears of Heaven’ musical revealed

A confirmation photo of Xiah Junsu’s musical contract for ‘Tears of Heaven‘ has been revealed in order to clarify speculations on his performance wage for the musical.

According to the contract, Xiah Junsu was contracted to receive $7,000 USD for each of his 10-20 performances.

Xiah Junsu expressed,

“Vague rumors regarding the performance fees are ungrounded. I feel it is just a great honor for me to work alongside world-renown maestro Frank Wildhorn and other respected stars. I like how the music has both classic and pop elements.

“These days, the musical market is greatly diminishing, and I have great interest in original Korean musicals with global aims. Even though a lot of Korean movies and music have already advanced into the global market, there aren’t a lot of cases for Korean musicals. I felt that ‘Tears of Heaven’ was such a great musical that it could succeed internationally, which is why I decided to help in its investments.”

Not only is ‘Jekyll & Hyde‘ director Frank Wildhorn a part of the production staff, but the director of ‘Sweeney Todd‘, Gabriel Barre, has signed on as well. Worldwide famous musical star Brad Little will also be acting alongside Korean actors for ‘Tears of Heaven’>

As a senior to Xiah Junsu in the musical industry, Min Young Ki didn't hold back on his praise for Xiah Junsu's potential. He spoke highly of Xiah Junsu as he said, "I've seen many idol-turned-musical actors who were unable to immerse themselves into their roles, but Xiah Junsu was completely different from the rest. He would seem shy at times but when he stood on stage, he'd change completely and you could feel the passion coming from him. He's not the best idol star for nothing. His talent and potential is endless."

Representative from musical company which produces musical ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ and ‘Mozart’, Sin Chun Su gave different evaluation about Jo Seung Woo and Xiah Junsu that drew a lot of attention.

Representative Sin said, “Jo Seung Woo has guaranteed the hall to worth 18 million won is true, but this is not the best achievement ever. Before Jo Seung Woo’s return, Xiah Junsu had gathered 30 million won for his stage.”

“Xiah Junsu’s ticket power was amazing. He’s able to filled up all 3 floors of Sejong Cultural Center. Now it seems the actor with amazing ticket power is not only Jo Seung Woo, there is Xiah Junsu as well. Those two have numerous Japanese fans too,” as representative Sin continued.

However, in regard to performance, there are two different assessments for these two actors. “Jo Seung Woo has played the musical ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ for 4 times already (2004, 2005, 2007, 2010), he’s also been away for a while (for military) thus the value of his coming performance seems to be higher.” he praised. “While for Xiah Junsu, I’ll save my evaluation on him for now.”

Sin Chun Su added, “Frankly, ones who came to Jo Seung Woo’s musical are pure musical audiences, while audiences in Xiah Junsu’s stage were mostly his fans.”

Meanwhile Jo Seung Woo is expected to perform in musical ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ on November 28th at Charlotte Theatre in Seoul.

[AKP] 100927 TVXQ’s Xiah Junsu gains strength from members for solo activities

Currently preparing for his musical entitled “Kim Junsu Musical Concert-Levay with Friends,” TVXQ/JYJ’s Xiah Junsu recently stated that he receives strength through his fellow members.

Earlier today at Seoul’s Choong Mu Art Hall, Xiah’s held an open practice session which several media outlets came to report on (think of it as a press conference but with more action). During the session, he performed several numbers from his previous musical “Mozart!” for his guests.

In addition, Xiah stated – which many Cassies would be happy to hear – that he receives his strength from his members. To be exact, he said, “Just watching the image each of us go through our activities gives me support and cheers me on,” as he sent on his thanks to his members.

(Note: He did not specify JYJ nor TVXQ as a whole but we’d like to think that he’s talking about the latter group.)

In regards to working on musicals, Xiah said, “Musicals have given me a lot of courage and strength…Through musicals, I can sing and another one of my dreams have come true…I want to cry and laugh with my fans; in essence, I want to breath with my fans.”

“Kim Junsu Musical Concert-Levay with Friends” is set to premiere at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium next month from the 7th to the 10th!

This is the second fans support planned by PicnicXiah (Junsu's Korean fansite) for Junsu's musical, the day after Avex released the official statement to suspend JYJ's activities in Japan.

This time there were more people gathered for rehearsal.

We brought different types of simple food there during the rest time.

There are delicious rice balls which are suitable to eat whether in a warm sunny day or during the freezing cold weather and beautiful cupcakes . ^^

The beverage includes soft drinks, mate tea, lemon juice and so on.

When the staff opened the door to bring the food in, we heard Junsu's singing voice!

It sounded like a song in Elizabeth, it is really high pitched~~~ Such a coincidence that the part we heard was before the end of the song.

After the ending, all the actors bestowed him with thunderous applause.

TT TT TT TT Even the actors were all clapping their hands, not to mention us who brought the food there, we were applausing while standing TT TT TT TT

The staff and actors told Junsu, 'Please enjoy it~'

Junsu answered 'Okay~!!!', his mood seemed quite good, the atmopshere in the practise room was great too~

After they finished the food, the person who came out to greet us included the actors and director, as well as our main character Junsu!!! He suddenly showed up to greet us~

(Recently Junsu seems to exercise a lot, his muscles are attractive!!! TT.T)

We initially worried that Junsu might feel depressed due to the incident happened yesterday, but we were relieved when we saw his bright smile and the way he talked~

We only believe Junsu and we will support him with all our efforts. It is enough by doing so! ^.^

On 17 August, at Seoul’s Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel’s Vista Hall for the “SungKyunKwan Scandal” press conference, Micky Yoochun said “Junsu lost his wallet, and is tired from having problems with his credit cards.”

On 1 August, Xiah Junsu visited the “SungKyunKwan Scandal” set and brought 100 boxes of fried chicken to show his support for Micky Yoochun.

Micky Yoochun said, “Junsu is definitely not the type who will spend his own money on things for other people, but he really paid for and brought the fried chicken over. Moreover, he stayed at the set and watched me shoot for over an hour, and this gave me a lot of energy.”

He then said, “Although Jaejoong and Junsu wanted to come over together, due to their schedules, it did not happen. But they said that they would visit in the future, with something even better than fried chicken.”

“SungKyunKwan Scandal” is set in the Chosun Dynasty’s Sungkyunkwan, and is a drama which talks about the youths’ dreams, love and friendship. Aside from Micky Yoochun, Park Min Young, Song Joong Gi and Yu Ah In etc are also featured, and is scheduled to air on 30 August.

TVXQ member Xiah Junsu made a surprise visit to the location where ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ is currently being filmed to support his fellow member Micky Yoochun.
