[Trans] 100416 TVXQ Passes The Million Mark In Japan

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Although TVXQ has paused activities in both Korea and Japan, the group’s power in the music industry doesn’t seem to have the slightest inclination to stop. With the three music albums they released this year, they have surpassed the million mark (selling one million copies) in just three months.

According to the Oricon Charts, Japan’s most prestigious album sales charts, TVXQ’s 30th single ‘Toki Wo Tomete’, that was released on March 24th, has sold 209,063 copies in March. Also, they have sold over 20,000 copies so far this month as well.

This means that TVXQ has surpassed the million mark with just three albums that were released this year.

TVXQ’s 29th single ‘BREAK OUT’, which was released on January 27th, sold 255,917 copies in just four days and sold 29,239 copies in February. This means that the total sales for ‘BREAK OUT’ till February were 285,156 copies.

Also, their Japanese Best Album ‘Best Selection 2010′, which was released on February 17th, sold 459,796 copies in February and 56,991 copies in March. Therefore, the total sales till March for ‘Best Selection 2010′ were 516,787 copies.

[TRANS] 100415 Tohoshinki Leaves Solid Trace In Japanese Music Industry

With the announcement of Tohoshinki's activities as a group coming to a stop, they still leave a strong trace in the Japanese music industry.

In Korea, Tohoshinki debuted in 2003 with "Hug", earning them various new artist awards. In 2005, they made their way into the Japanese market with "Stay With Me Tonight".
Since then, have released 30 singles and 4 albums, and have firmly secured their honorable position at the top as famous artistes.

On March 24, 2010, they released their 30th single "Toki Wo Tomete", which both earned them #1 on the Oricon charts, as well as their 8th time in placing #1 in the weekly charts, breaking the record for overseas singers.

In addition, Tohoshinki also released their "Best Selection 2010" album in February, and sold an extraordinary 410 000 copies in just the first week. Hence, since their debut in Japan 5 years ago, they set the record for the highest number of copies sold as overseas artistes. With the music industry sinking farther in terms of the economy, Tohoshinki's records still managed to sell over 5 million copies since their debut into the Japanese market.

Profiting from such outstanding success, on the "2009 Oricon Annual Charts", Tohoshinki reaped in a total of 6.89 billion yen (t/n: approx 75 million USD) coming after popular groups Arashi and EXILE, and placing as #3.

With such astonishing achievements, Tohoshinki really are true stars, not just in name, but also in reality. (-->>like this! this is true that they arent just stars in name but also true stars!)

(t/n: FYI-- Japan has the second largest entertainment industry after the United States)

[Trans] 100325 Tohoshinki’s New Song “Toki wo Tomete” Started in First Place

Korean quintet Tohoshinki’s 30th single “Toki wo Tomete” sold almost 125,000 copies on the first day of its release, claiming the top spot of Oricon’s Single Daily Chart on 3/23. Tohoshinki’s remix album “TVXQ NONSTOP-MIX VOL.2″ which was released on the same day took the second place on Oricon’s Daily Album Chart. It is predicted that both their single and album will take the top spots of the weekly charts.

“Toki wo Tomete” was already included in the 2CD+DVD version of their first best album “BEST SELECTION 2010″ which was released in February. The song was used in the 2009 commercial “To Shine Beautifully in 3 Steps” of Menard Cosmetic. It has quickly become a popular song, and even though it has been hurriedly put in the album, due to the requests of fans, it has been cut from the album to form a single. The coupling song of the single is YunHo’s solo song “CHECKMATE”.

Moreover, their album “TVXQ NONSTOP-MIX VOL.2″ this time is the second remix album after one that has been released in February 2007. It is a non-stop mix of 22 songs that are linked to their popularity, such as “Beautiful You” and “Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattan Darou?”

This photo is taken at the "Toki Wo Tomete" PV filming scene when Jaejoong is filming the PV and it should be taken by illegitimate fans. Jaejoong look so chic together with those era feel machines. The filming venue is actually a museum for elementary students to visit, which is located at Kanuma. Jaejoong look so magnificent! (It should be refering to Jaejoong's golden hair~) Haha.

[TRANS] Lyrics for Toki Wo Tomete

TOKIWO TOMETE
I WANT TO BE WITH YOU FOREVER

Lyrics by Shinjiroh Inoue
Music by Ichiro Fujiya
Arranged by Daisuke Kahara

Isoguyouni natsuno seiza tachiga biruno tanimani katamuite kakureteku
The summer stars are rushing away and fading out behind the buildings

Toorisugiru bokurano mainichi chippokena kotode nakisouna tokimoaru
As the days are speeding by, I’m almost in tears even with little things

Itsuka kimiga ikitagatteita ano miseha mounakunatte shimattakedo
The shop that you have wanted to go has gone

Donna himo bokutachiha futarino koiwa owaranaito shinjiteita
We have always believed that our love will never fade away

Tokiwo tomete zutto kimino sobaniitai
I want be with you forever, my love

Miageta sora negai komete
Looking up to the sky, I wish with all my heart

Hitotsuhitotsu kagayaku hoshi tsunagenagara
Connecting the sparkling stars one by one

Kimino katachi … sagashiteta
I am longing… for your shadow

Sukidayotte jouzuni ienakutte namiuchigiwade furueta osanai koi
I’m not good in expressing my love for you, my first love is trembling at the water’s edge

Tadotadoshiku naranda metomega mabatakisaemo oshiito kanjiteita
Haltingly, side by side, our eyes can’t even spare one blink

Sunani kaita chikaiha suguni hiku namini sarawarete kiete shimattemo
Even though our words are written in the sand, it will be immediately washed away by the waves

Anokorono bokutachiha futarino koiha kawaranai to shinjiteita
During those days, we have always believed that our love will never fade away

Tokiwo tomete zutto kimino sobaniitai
I want be with you forever, my love

Motto kimiwo dakishimetai
I want to hold you, again and again

Hitotsuhitotsu kiminokotowo oboenagara
As I’ve recognized you step by step

Eiendake shinjiteta
I just believed in an eternal love

Tokiwo tomete zutto kimino sobaniitai
I want be with you forever, my love

Miageta sora negai komete
Looking up to the sky, I wish with all my heart

Hitotsuhitotsu kagayaku hoshi tsunagenagara
Tying all the shining stars together

Kimino katachi sagashiteta
I am longing… for your shadow

Tokiwo tomete zutto kimino sobaniitai
I want be with you forever, my love

Eiendake shinjiteta
I just believed in an eternal love

T/N: The title in Japanese is 「時ヲ止メテ」, and can be directly translated as “Stop the time”. Here, Shinjiroh Inoue (the lyrics writer) is using katakana characters, not the usual 「時を止めて」 with hiragana characters. I believe that Inoue has included a special meaning, and the meaning is especially difficult to express in English.
In the very last part of the song, there is the lyrics (T/N: I just believed in an eternal love), so I thought 「時ヲ止メテ」 maybe a symbol or symbolic representation of the song, meaning “forever”. Therefore, though not literally correct, I’ve made the trans as above, not including “Stop the time”. I also personally think that “Stop the time” is not really poetic….Thank you for your understanding!

T/N2: As you can see, many of our O! staffs have given their precious time in order to post this topic up in such a fast timing. Thank you, staffs!!
