[NEWS] JYJ World Tour: LA Showcase Recap + Photos

The third and final stop of the JYJ concert was held in Los Angeles. While an unofficial line stretching nearly an entire block began as early as 9am, the actual event started around 8:30PM. The concert was held at USC’s Galen Center, where Shane Yoon and Arden Cho were MCs. Fans came from as far as China for the last US showcase by JYJ and chanted "JYJ" waving their glow sticks while waiting for the show to begin.

After being introduced by both MCs and a short video, JYJ slowly arose from the stage and began performing "Empty". As with the other two showcases, they then moved onto "Be The One" and "Be My Girl". Their singing and dancing easily moved the crowd, causing both excited screaming and awed reverence. After the two songs, there were also short videos of JYJ played on the large screens. The first featured them writing messages to the fans on glass, the second showed the members during rehearsals and preparations for their album.

Following the opening three songs, the MCs returned to begin the Q&A session with the JYJ members.

The interview below is merely a summary and not a complete transcription.

Shane: They hooked me up with this outfit and showed me some dance moves. Next year, are you guys ready for JYJ and SPAM?
Arden: I think Shane’s got a shot. That was pretty good, right? You guys having fun? Let’s give it up for JYJ one more time!
Shane: Man, these clothes are tight! Literally, it’s really tight. I can’t breathe.
Arden: I think Shane needs a diet. Maybe.
Shane: I thought Jaejoong and I were the same size but he’s like-(interrupted by fans). Are you guys calling me fat? (crowd chuckles)
Arden: Alright¸ who’s the biggest JYJ fan here? (crowd screams)
Arden: Well, who’s your favorite JYJ member? (crowd screams)

The MCs call out each name: Yoochun (screams), Jaejoong (screams), Junsu (screams).

Shane: Jaejoong, sorry, I spilled ketchup on my other shirt so I’m wearing your shirt. Is that okay?
Jaejoong: It’s all good.

Shane: Alright, so for the fans who don’t know who these fine looking gentlemen are, can you introduce yourselves?
Junsu: Hi. I’m Junsu. Oh my God, sun!
Jaejoong: Hi everyone! Nice to meet you! I’m Jaejoong.
Yoochun: Hi guys. How’s everybody’s time? I’m Micky.

Shane: How many of you guys follow their twitter? (crowd scream)
Shane: Our first question that we want to ask is: Have you guys seen Micky Christmas? (Yoochun covers his face in embarrassment)
Shane: Micky, what was that? What was Micky Christmas? What was the idea behind it?
Yoochun: It was nothing but the next holiday is Thanksgiving, right? I was having a party with Christmas Santa hats and chilling with my friends.

Shane: Do you guys like Micky Christmas? How many of guys have been following the twitter user, Elbowyeish? He’s a mystery man so we’re going to reveal to you who he actually is. Elbowyeish, come on out! Here he is, guys. Here he is.
Arden: This is Elbowyeish, the egg!
Shane: Elbowyeish, everyone knows him as John.
Junsu: Oh my John!
Shane: So here he is, revealed! LA showcase.
(Jaejoong pretends to throw the egg)

Shane: Alright, we’re going to get a lot more tweets from John. So give a round of applause, please. One thing the fans want to ask is for all of you: Can you guys talk about your cats and dogs? Everyone’s worried about them since you’re on tour.
Jaejoong: Yeah, I’m raising two cats right now and I really like them but I don’t like that they’re getting bigger.
Junsu: My dogs are at my parents house.

Shane: The fans want to know: Will you guys be coming back to the US?
Yoochun: Yeah, probably we’ll be filming the Empty music video in LA. Maybe we’re gonna have concert next year. Road trip.

Shane: The last question we want to ask: All the fans want to know about your twitter account name. How you guys named that name.
Yoochun: Mjj is Micky Jaejoong Junsu or Micky Junsu Jaejoong.
Junsu: 0101xiahtic.
Arden: 0101 is his birthday. Don’t forget it, ladies.
Junsu: Don’t forget. Xiatic is the title of a song that he wrote.
Yoochun: Mine’s the 6002themicky. It’s Yoochunie.
Arden: So the 6002, if you actually say it in Korean language, it sounds like Yoochun, his name. So yoochunie, 6002, sounds like Yoochun, which is obviously his name
Shane: So if you want to follow them on twitter, please follow them. You’ll know everything they want to share with the fans so make sure you follow them.

After the interview, JYJ sang the Korean song "Found You" from Yoochun’s Sungkyungwan Scandal OST. Prior to the concert, the fans waiting in line had been given fansigns to hold up during this song.
Immediately afterwards, "Ayyy Girl" began to play, causing fans to cheer and jump in excitement. Red and white streamers and confetti then shot out from the stage and fell down on the fans, which only furthered the fans enthusiasm.

The last song was their "Empty" remix, leaving the screens on stage to show their music video for "Ayyy Girl". The MCs, Shane and Arden, returned on stage to thank the crowd for coming and officially end the concert. Still captivated by the magical performance, fans waited long after the showcase finished, hoping for an encore.
