[TRANS] 101223 Changmin for Ray Magazine - 50 Questions Part 2

26. Is there a specific style you like on girls (in terms of fashion)?
I like people who are versatile. It may be a little demanding of me (laughs), but wouldn't one also be able to project their own charm if one were to accept and experiment with different styles?

27. Where would you go on a first date?
To the amusement park. Since I can't go myself, it's always been a dream of mine. I want to go on the rollercoaster, although of course, if she doesn't want to, I wouldn't force it on her. After all, we're meant to be enjoying the visit with one another.

28. What could a girl do or say to make you happy?
I'd like her to all me. Even if I've already gone to bed, I'd like her to call telling me she's had a nightmare so that I know she trusts and depends on me.

29. How would you get over a heartbreak?
Ah this one is difficult. It takes me a really long time to get over heartbreaks. Over time, my hope will slip away and I'll lose faith in relationships, but it'll get better eventually.

30. What has captured your interest recently?
Fishing! I'd like to go out to sea on a boat and do it properly. Once you're out there and you've cast your line… you won't get interrupted, it's time that belongs to you alone. I want to do that.

31. In your past relationships, did you dump the other person or were you the one being dumped?
I was dumped once. It was my first ever relationship. That time… it was just awful (laughs)!

32. What do you think makes an ideal man?
Someone who pursues whatever he sees fit. A man who is determined to succeed and won't let anything come in his way. Even though he has no way of knowing whether or not he's walking down the correct path, he lives according to his own beliefs.

33. Which actors do you admire?
Won Bin, Kimura Takuya and Kaneshiro Takeshi.

34. Are there any particular directors you'd like to work with?
Director Yukisada Xun.
I watch a lot of romance films like Love Story. Works where there is a strong yearning for love in a romantic film really leave a deep impression.

35. What movie have you watched recently that you really liked?
Inception. Also Won Bin's new Korean film ‘Ahjusshi’. It's a lot like ‘LION’, you'll hold high regard for it even if you're a man.

36. Movie that has left the deepest impression?
Brokeback Mountain. It's a wonderful love story. It does a good job of depicting the main characters' emotions. Good films are ones where the shifts and changes in the characters' feelings are well conveyed.

37. Most touching movie?
Gran Torino. It’s directed by Clint Eastwood. I once cried so hard that I gave myself a headache. There's also an Indian film called 'Black', it's also a real tearjerker.

38. What was your childhood dream?
Scientist or broadcaster.

39. What is your ideal profession?
Broadcaster or sports journalist. I've wanted to be a broadcaster since the third year of primary school. I also really want to be a sports journalist so that I'll have the opportunity to meet a lot of athletes.

40. What is your dream now?
To build a warm family. Although it seems kind of lame (laughs). Compared to earning loads of money and getting rich, I have a much stronger desire to build my own family.

41. Do you like Tokyo?
Yes! Its atmosphere is completely different to that of Seoul. I've already adapted to life in Tokyo.

42. What do you like about Tokyo?
It feels like home. It doesn't feel like a foreign country close to home anymore, it feels exactly like home. The people around me have helped to create an amiable atmosphere and I can feel it both in real life settings and when I'm working.

43. Where have you traveled to so far that has left the deepest impression?
Paris. There were pretty much no Koreans on the streets and I really enjoyed that. Also because it was the first time I'd gone abroad, that's probably why (laughs).

44. Where do you want to go?
I've yet to visit New York. Since I've never been there before, I really want to go. I think I'd gain a lot out of it because there's so much to see.

45. If you could relive your life, who would you want to be?
Even if I were to undergo a rebirth, I'd be myself!

46. What has been your biggest failure to date?
Surprisingly, there hasn't been anything.

47. What has been the happiest moment of your life to date?
When my entire family moved around 2 years after my debut.

48. When do you feel the happiest now?
When I'm eating!

49. What do you want the most this moment?
Clothes, car, family, love, friends. And pretty much more of everything that I already possess.

50. To conclude, please send a greeting to your Japanese fans.
I want to bring smiles to your faces through my different activities!

2010 has been packed with invaluable experiences and I hope that 2011 will be even better. I want to give my Japanese fans happiness through my singing and dancing and all other activities.

[TRANS] 101219 Changmin for Ray Magazine - 50 Questions Part 1

Here are the first 25 questions:

1. What is your motto in life?
Honesty is the best policy. That is what my parents have always taught me ever since I was young. Whenever I did anything wrong, they'd get really angry if I lied about it (laughs), but if I confessed to them honestly, they'd be okay.

2. When was it that you felt like you'd grown up?
When memories from the past kept resurfacing in my mind. For example, when I meet up with friends from primary and high school and talk about the old days, or when I see cartoons and toys that remind me of the past.

3. Are there times when you feel like you're still a child?
When I'm with my parents. Whenever I'm with my parents, I'm always extra stubborn (laughs). I don't really speak my mind when I'm with my colleagues, but I'm extremely honest when my parents are around.

4. Are there times when you feel that you just cannot lose to others?
When I'm truly passionate about something, like work, sports, relationships. If I genuinely loved something, I'd never be able to stand losing, but if I'm not very interested, then I wouldn't mind so much.

5. What kind of child were you when you were young?
Cuter than I am now. My skin was like milk, it was white and pale. I was lively, energetic and extremely noisy.

6. If you had a time machine, where would you go and what would you do?
I'd go back to the middle school days. I want to learn and be in love.

7. What are your favourite seasons?
Fall and winter.

8. What do you look forward to in winter?
Ah… snow.

9. What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Move and stretch my face muscles. I'll huff a little to loosen up my mouth and then I'll use my tongue to push against my cheeks. I learnt that in my singing lessons. I think it helps make the swelling go away if you do it first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake up.

10. What is your secret to maintaining your figure?
To be perfectly honest, I'm just not the type to get fat. I don't really take much notice of it… I'm just naturally like this… sorry (laughs). I work out at the gym 4-5 times a week nowadays.

11. What is your favourite physical feature on yourself?
Eyes. Lots of people have complimented them and I really like them myself. They're not overly small and they don't have to be huge.

12. Do you pay special attention to fashion trends?
Not particularly, but I have my own style. Basically I just wear jeans all the time. Since it's winter now, I'll wear a long coat or knitwear with jeans. I like long tops and long coats (laughs)).

13. Do you read magazines?
I read a lot of fashion magazines. If something I see in a magazine catches my eye, I'll go and buy it. I look at girls' fashion magazines too. In terms of books, I read novels, and I don't read any manga other than 'One Piece'

14. What type of music do you listen to the most?
When it's cold, I like to listen to slow, mellow music.

15. Who is your favourite musician?
Stevie Wonder. Right before this, I went to his concert in Korea. I was so happy to see such a wonderful performance that even cried. It was just amazing (laughs).

16. What do you like to eat?
More to the point, there's nothing that I don't like. I really like pizza and pasta and Italian food in general. I can't really grasp the idea of salted fish… Basically you could give me anything in the world and I'd eat it, just not salted fish.

17. What food or beverage would you recommend?
Water. When I'm thirsty, I'll drink up to 4 litres of water at once, especially if I'm sick. It makes your skin better and speeds up metabolism. It's a lot better than working hard to lose weight.

18. What's your favourite number?
It's always been 2. You might think this is a really ridiculous reason, but I think 1 is an extremely pointless number. Wouldn't 1 become 2 if it just worked a little harder?

19. Favoutie book?
Recently I've been reading '1Q84'. Although it's taking quite a while, I'm honestly hooked. I think it's a book with such an irresistible appeal. There are a lot of avid Haruki Murakami fans in Korea. I've also read 'Norwegian Wood'

20. When have you felt the most motivated recently?
When I'm dancing and learning to sing! I'm the happiest when I'm singing and dancing. I feel like I really push myself whenever I'm learning, but I always get disappointed once I've reached my limit.

21. What do you do during breaks?
I like to spend my free time at home, in peace. Usually I watch TV or DVDs and listen to music at home. Those are probably the things I do most often. I've always liked peace and quiet. When there are a lot of people making a big racket, I get uncomfortable. I don't like it.

22. Where do you go when you go out during your holidays?
I'll go out and have a drink with some friends. Or I'll just go for dinner.

23. Is there a sport you'd like to challenge yourself in?
Bungee jumping. I haven't tried it before but I always feel at peace when I'm standing somewhere high. There aren't a lot of places in Korea that are high enough for me to jump off. I have a really intense desire to jump off somewhere high.

24. Is there anything a girl could do that would make your heart skip a beat?
When she's made food and offers me some. If she goes like 'try some!' and gives me food, yeah something like that (laughs). I'm the type who wants to live eating good food, it'd be even better if it were someone who could make good miso sauce.

25. What type of girls do you like?
Anyone who is innocent and cute is fine. Since I'm not a very lovable person myself, I think I'm attracted to girls like that (laughs). Oh and it'd be nice if she were a little introverted and very gentle.

[Trans] 100711 Junsu Ray Magazine August Issue

Catch up with this trans: 100621 Ray Xiah Junsu – “About Myself, Love & Music”
As a member of TVXQ, Junsu ventures into the music world as a solo artist!
Junsu’s new song ‘Intoxication’ which was recorded in his solo single ‘Xiah’, includes the dance genre of matureness that fully displayed of his talent in singing.
“‘Intoxication’ brings a completely new side of me. It conveys the sexiness of men. The dance track has a club-feel, it exposes the truth side of myself without any reservation. Therefore, while performing, the vast dynamic range and large intervals would amplify and is also sang sexily!”
The music style of ‘Intoxication’ is something which I have always wanted to try out. On the other hand, ‘悲しみのゆくえ (Kanashimi no Yukue )’ is an opposite of ‘Intoxication’. It is a expressive composition which conceal one’s sorrow. It says about someone who wanted to confess to a person he loves yet wondering if the person would understand and accept your feelings.”
Able to walk on the path of music, Junsu is greatly affected by the impact of his mother。

“My mother really loves music. She was once approached by a management agency which hoped that she’ll become an artiste, and this is the reason why she’s so happy when I became one. It makes me scared sometimes when my performances or compositions are somehow similar to hers, she really did leave a huge impact on me. Now that I’ve become more professional than what I used to be, I no longer need her advice. Sometimes I would hear those words from her “After hearing such words, I feel lonely and complicated.”
Junsu, who feels like he has only just embarked on the journey to become an artist said, “I’ve never really considered what type of artist I’d like to be, but I hope that my songs will last for the rest of eternity. As long as there are people who liked and enjoyed my music, I will continue to sing regardless of the time and situation. It is the things that I love which motivate me to sing.

[TRANS] Junsu's 'Ray' Magazine Interview

As a member of TVXQ, Junsu ventures into the music world as a solo artist!
Junsu's new single 'Intoxication' was recently released in his album 'Xiah'. As a dance track targeted at a more mature audience, the song is a perfect display of Junsu's impeccable talent.

'This is a song which brings out a completely new side of me. It conveys a side of men in a sexy way. The dance track has a club-feel; it exposes the true 'me' without reservation, and contains a certain sex appeal which is especially amplified by the vast dynamic range and large intervals. 'Intoxication' embraces a music style I have always wanted to try out. On the other hand, 'Kanashimi no Yukue 悲しみのゆくえ' is an expressive composition which deals with the suppression and concealment of one's self. It is the feeling of wanting to confess to a person you love but not knowing whether or not they will understand and accept you.'

His Mother's Influence:

'My mother loves music, in fact, she was once approached by a management company which hoped to make her an artist, and this is why she is happy that I'm able to become one. It makes me scared how similar my performance's are to hers, she really did have a huge impact on me. Now that I've become more professional than I used to be, I no longer need her advice, whenever I hear those words from her, I'm hit by a sense of loneliness and a flurry of mixed emotions.'

Junsu, who feels like he has only just embarked on the journey to become an artist said 'I've never really considered what type of artist I'd like to be, but I hope that my songs will last for the rest of eternity. As long as there are people who like and enjoy my music, I will continue to sing regardless of the time and situation. It is the things that I love which motivate me to sing.'
