The trio of JYJ (YoungWoong JaeJoong, Xiah JunSu, Micky YooChun) has achieved a new record of earning 7 billion won in a day showing their tremendous popularity. This record was achieved by the day they released their first debut album 'The Beginning' as well as by the release of the tickets for their 'JYJ Showcase Tour 2010' in Seoul. The 99,999 copies of their special limited edition album had received 400,000 orders; and all the on-sale items were sold out at the speed of light under their selling power.
Despite increasing the selling price of the album to 41,600 won after taking JYJ’s popularity into consideration and releasing 99,999 copies of the special limited edition album during the recession state of the music industry, however, even at such a situation, JYJ’s popularity is still surprisingly high.
At the same time, the pre-orders of the normal edition have also reached 200,000 copies. The total of the pre-order sales for both the special limited edition (estimated to be 4.1 billion won) and the normal edition (2.7 billion won) is recorded to be about 6.8 billion won within a day.
In addition, after the release of the ticket sales for the ‘JYJ Showcase Tour in Seoul’ on the 5th of October, all the 11,000 tickets were sold out within 15 minutes. The ticket pricing is at 55,000 won for audience seats (3600 seats) and 44,000 won for reserved seats (2000 seats). Thus the total sale profit for two performances is about 600 million won.
Other than that, following many requests by the fans, the album supplier has stated, “We will take into consideration to release the limited edition by other means.”
