The SM Town Live ’10 World Tour in L.A concert will be made into a 3D movie to be screened in theatres.
On September 4th at 7pm (Local American time) in L.A, the whole of the SM Town Live concert in L.A was recorded by PACE, a production company that specialises in 3D films which was established by the director of ‘Avatar,' James Cameron. While this video was sponsored by Samsung Electronics for promotional use for its 3D display products, there are plans to screen it the contents as a movie.
A senior official from SM revealed, “Although things may change, post-production, but it appears that we may be able to release it either at the end of the year or early next year.” Also saying, “We are hoping for a big response in releasing it not just in Korea, but in China, South Asia and elsewhere.”
Although it had already been announced that Girls' Generation and BoA had made a music video with PACE’s team, this is the first time that they are filming a concert in 3D. The production company PACE and Samsung Electronics have already filmed a concert in 3D together with Black Eyed Peas New York Manhattan concerts last March.
Meanwhile on September 4th in L.A, America the SM Town Live ’10 World Tour in L.A opened with KangTa, BoA, Uknow YunHo, ChoiKang ChangMin, Girls' Generation, Super Junior, SHINee, f(x), TRAX, Kim Min Jong, Lee Yeon Hee, Ara along with other SM Entertainment’s actors and singers, totalling about 40 people.
Last August 21st, the SM Town World Tour concert in Jamshil Olympic Stadium finished with great success, and after the L.A concert it has been planned for the tour to continue in Shanghai, China at Hongkou Athletics Stadium on the 11th and in Tokyo, Japan in January next year.
